MUSICALITY 2010

Hi Paul and Debbie,

Just thought we would drop you a note to express a definite interest for Will to take part in Musicality 2011!

We would also like you to know how much he enjoyed being part of Musicality 2010 this summer and how much we, our family and friends, plus quite a few of Will's friends and their parents enjoyed the production.
The show was fantastic. It was lively, colourful, very well staged, the musical arrangements were great, the costumes fab, but most of all the cast was confident and obviously enjoying their performance. This was clearly evident from the very warm and enthusiastic audience reaction.

We don't really get chance to talk, as we only meet when you are working, so we have never expressed how happy we are that Will has become part of Rainbow Connection and how much we appreciate the quality of the tuition he receives, both as a piano student and also as a member of the Junior Choir. We feel so lucky that we have found two teachers who not only know their own professions inside out, but also know how to communicate with and more importantly inspire their students whether they be 8yrs old or 80yrs old, and the caring but no nonsense way you achieve this.  We have enjoyed seeing Will develop from the fairly shy child of two years ago into a child who is happy and confident now, and we believe this is in part to do with how and what you teach.

As for the Musicality 2010 Summer School this year, we were very happy for Will to take part as we had seen the 2009 show. We like the careful way the shows are structured with a sort of 'pick and mix' showing what is happening now in musical theatre and introducing the best of what has gone before. And also the way you find material that is relevant for the wide range of ages and abilities that you find yourself with each year. We feel privileged that Will has had the opportunity to work alongside the guest tutor, Richard Swerrun (and his dogs)!

We had so much fun watching the shows and were astonished at the quality of the performances from everyone taking part. How you achieve this in barely a fortnight never really knowing who you are going to get from one year to the next  is amazing. Will was inspired. Will has also discovered that music can be fun and 'of the moment', that it is something he can be a part of, working in a group situation, co operating with others. Importantly, working together has helped our son to better identify strengths and weaknesses in himself and others in order to reach a common goal to produce something to the best of his ability. He has learnt that a good performance is hard work but can be terrifically rewarding. He has learnt to respect his peers and accept differences. All these qualities are very important for a young person to take out into the real world whether in a personal or professional sense in all aspects of  life. Most of all though he has learnt how to have fun and for that we thank you.

With the very best, and warmest of wishes,

Imogen and Rod
MUSICALITY 2009

Hi Paul & Debbie,

Just wanted to say that you and your dedicated behind the scene crew (not forgetting the cast of course) put on a fab Musicality 2009.  Caitlin had the time of her life.  She obviously was nervous on the first day but she came home every day tired, happy and always smiling.  She loved the dance element which was in many ways a new skill for her and not once did she complain which I felt was a great compliment to yourselves as well as her enjoyment.  Caitlin is already talking about the possible content of next year's show!
You must both be shattered after all the time and effort putting on such a show takes up.  Hope you both have a restful couple of weeks with your lovely daughter before the new term begins and The Royal Albert Hall beckons.
Regards,
Laura & Chris

MUSICALITY 2009

Paul and Debbie.  What an absolutely, stupendous, humdinger of a show my congratulations to you all.  The direction was superb, the music, stunning and the performance by everyone out of this world. They really do have the 'X' factor and put a new light on the children and teenagers of Donny.  As for Richard he has the best legs I've seen since Betty Grable.  You both must feel so proud this morning, but I still can't believe it was done in just two short weeks, gosh how those kids must have worked.

My very best wishes to you both and once again my heartiest congratulations.  Bob Hayward
MUSICALITY 2008

Hi Debbie and Paul

Here's wishing you big vibes and fantastic success tonight!!
I have sensed much enthusiasm from the kids at the coach pick-ups and
drop-offs in the past few days. They are really up for it.
I had hoped to be there, but it's not going to happen unfortunately.
Anyway, fingers crossed for a full-house. I look forward to feed-back.

Best regards

John Ellis
thank you both for two totally inspirational singing lessons for Alison. We have both come away with an enormous amount of information and ideas. Your musicianship is superb, both of you. We could listen to your wisdom and experience for hours. Alison reckons it is her best Christmas present.

PS We are very taken with Debbie's shoes! Alison might well be interested. Can you let us have any details - what they are called & where you got them from?
